When do I have to complete my CE?

Your continuing education must be completed by the anniversary of your initial licensure every two years.

Distance Education courses do not currently have a final exam requirement.

When will my course completions be reported?
|
|
|
We report course completions to Mississippi Real Estate Commission the next business day.

Certificates of Completion
|
|
|
Immediately upon real estate course completion being reported, GeeWhiz Real Estate School will provide you with an electronic copy of your course certificate of completion. Customer service will have access to your certificates of completion in your account for a minimum of five years, should you need additional copies at a later time.
Please keep these certificates in your personal files. While GeeWhiz reports your hours to the Commission, you are not required to submit physical copies with your renewal unless specifically requested by the Mississippi Real Estate Commission for verification or during a random audit. |

Can I repeat a course I've already taken?
|

|
No. You cannot receive credit for the same course more than once within the same two-year renewal cycle.
The Commission tracks your education by the specific MREC course approval number. If you attempt to complete a course with a number that is already on your record for your current cycle, those hours will be disallowed and will not count toward your 16-hour requirement. |

Can excess hours be carried over?
|
|
|
Yes, but with strict limitations. Mississippi law (MS Code § 73-35-18) allows you to carry over a maximum of 6 elective hours to your next renewal cycle, provided the extra ce hours are earned within the final three (3) months of your current two-year licensing term.
