When do I have to complete my CE?

It is required that all students spend a minimum amount of seat time engaged in the course content. Our online course delivery system manages this requirement for you.

When will my course completions be reported?
|

We report course completions to CE Marketplace the next business day. You can access your course records with CE Marketplace here.

Certificates of Completion
|
|
|
Immediately upon real estate course completion being reported, GeeWhiz Real Estate School will provide you with an electronic copy of your course certificate of completion. Customer service will have access to your certificates of completion in your account for a minimum of five years, should you need additional copies at a later time.
Please keep these certificates in your personal files. While GeeWhiz reports your hours to the Commission, you are not required to submit physical copies with your renewal unless specifically requested by the Michigan Real Estate Commission for verification or during a random audit. |

Can I repeat a course I've already taken?
|
|
|
No. You cannot earn credit for the same course more than once within the same three-year licensing cycle.
Michigan law is very clear on "duplication of credit." If you successfully complete a continuing education course, you will not receive additional hours toward your 18-hour requirement if you repeat that exact course during the same cycle—even if you take it in a different calendar year. |

Can excess hours be carried over?
|
|
|
No. Continuing education credits cannot be carried forward to the next three-year licensing cycle. All 18 hours must be completed within your current three-year term to be eligible for renewal.
If you complete more than the required 18 hours, those additional credits are for your own professional development and will not reduce the requirement for your next cycle. |
