When do I have to complete my CE?

The compliance date is the license expiration date, which occurs every 2 years on the anniversary of the date the license was issued.
Please take your expiration date into consideration when choosing to start your courses to ensure you have sufficient time to complete the material and receive your certificates. |

What are the study requirements for my courses?
|
|
|
Agents must read the course material and engage with all interactive elements prior to taking the final exam.
To receive credit, you must successfully complete the course, including the final assessment. The Maine Real Estate Commission requires that courses be completed in their entirety to ensure a full understanding of the subject matter. |

What are the exam requirements for my courses?
|
|
|
Final exams are required by ME REC and students must pass with a score of 85% or greater.
|
|
When will my course completions be reported?
|
|
|
CE providers are not required to report your course completions to the Commission.
When you renew your license, you will "self-certify" that you have completed the required 21 clock hours. It is your responsibility to: |

Certificates of Completion
|
|
|
Immediately upon real estate course completion, GeeWhiz Real Estate School will provide you with an electronic copy of your course certificate of completion. Customer service will have access to your certificates of completion in your account for a minimum of five years, should you need additional copies at a later time.
Please keep these certificates in your personal files; you do not need to submit them with your renewal unless specifically requested by the Maine Real Estate Commission during a random audit. |

Can I repeat a course I've already taken?
|
|
|
No. You may not receive clock hour credit for the same course more than once within three (3) years.
Please contact customer service or verify your records or previous certificates of completion before enrolling in a course you have taken recently to ensure you are eligible for the credits. |

Can excess hours be carried over?
|
|
|
No. Continuing education hours must be completed within the current two-year license term. Any hours earned in excess of the required 21 hours cannot be carried over nor applied to your next renewal cycle.
Your clock hours for the next renewal cycle begin accumulating only on or after the issue date of your renewed license. |

Are you approved by the state?

|
Yes. All of our continuing education courses are fully approved and accredited by the Maine Real Estate Commission (a division of the Department of Professional & Financial Regulation).
Please note that while our courses are fully certified, the state of Maine does not issue individual "provider numbers" to education vendors as some other jurisdictions do. Your completion certificates will feature our approved course titles and tracking information to ensure you receive full credit toward your license renewal.
